Leaves’eyes es una banda de gothic metal de origen noruego formada en el 2003, poco después de la salida de Liv Kristine del grupo Theatre of Tragedy. La banda fue formada por Alexander Krull y miembros del grupo "Atrocity", la mayoría de las canciones son inspiradas en el arte noruego y la música folk, como también en melodías celticas.

Este 9 de octubre Leaves’eyes nos deleitara con su más reciente material "njord" al más puro estilo del gothic metal, con su voz salida del más profundo bosque vikingo, la cita es en el recinto de metal "Circo Volador"

Desde mi ultima recomendación de Dean Can Dance ya no había tenido tiempo de poder publicar un buen disco, así que compensando este tiempo les quiero compartir un Set Box que en lo personal es de mis consentidos (en un futuro les compartiré el de Joy Division) este set box llamadoThe Black Bible incluye un compilado con grupos muy representativos como Bauhaus, Alien Sex Fiend, los mexicanos Hocico, Suspiria, Christian Death y Ataraxia entre muchos otros que son punto de referencia para las nuevas bandas, de igual manera los géneros abarcados pasan desde el Post Punk, Goth rock, Death rock, Industrial, Electro e Industrial Metal, como pueden ver es una compilación bastante completa.

Ya tenia un rato que no posteaba un disco o recomendación, en esta ocasión les comparto uno de mis discos preferidos, se trata de Into the Labyrinth de  Dead Can Dance, una banda formada por el londinense Brendan Perry y la australiana Lisa Gerrard.

Este disco es una verdadera obra de arte, hay un poco de nostalgia, amores frustrados, una mirada a la historia antigua, a las tradiciones. 

Brendan: "es un viaje sobre lo escrito en un año, basado en el hecho de vivir lejos de la ciudad con gente del campo. Hay raíces folklóricas: el amor por lo natural, la música primitiva del mundo y el amor por los sonidos naturales: cantos de los pájaros, del bosque…."

Asignar un género musical a Dead Can Dance es difícil, puesto que su estilo era particularmente ecléctico. Sin embargo, a menudo sus primeros trabajos son clasificados como música gótica. En sus últimas obras, tras The Serpent’s Egg, las fuentes de las que beben son la música antigua y las músicas llamadas étnicas, lo que les imprime un estilo característico. Como consecuencia, sus últimos discos son extraordinariamente diferentes a los tres primeros.

El nombre Dead Can Dance es a menudo engañoso. Aunque el grupo es catalogado popularmente como parte de la Cultura Gótica, el nombre simplemente significa poner vida nuevamente dentro de algo que está muerto, o que hace mucho no ha sido utilizado. Algunos de los instrumentos que usan son antiguos o poco frecuentes en la música occidental
